THE KRUEGER BROTHERS
Whether it is their energized stage presence on the bandstand or the deep, communicative understanding they share through their music, the brothers Cian and Brendan Krueger thrive across a range of performance styles, from bebop, swing, and Latin jazz to other contemporary works. Known for their disciplined technique and strong harmonic vocabulary, while also open to various approaches to their craft, the Krueger Brothers' adaptability makes them highly in demand across the Denver jazz community.
Both Cian and Brendan developed their passion for music at a young age. Both brothers began their musical journey by learning classical piano. During their formative years, both would also develop other musical interests, with Brendan focusing on singing and Cian taking up jazz saxophone. Honing their performative and technical skills through programs such as the Colorado Conservatory of Jazz Arts (CCJA) and the Summer Jazz Workshops at the University of Northern Colorado, while receiving mentoring from well-established jazz studies professors at CU Boulder like Paul Romaine, Brad Goode, Victor Maestas, Eric Gunnison, and John Gunther, both brothers establish strong foundational skills in jazz music towards the later part of their music development.
During their collegiate years, while Brendan studied at Colorado Mesa University for a bachelor's in Vocal Performance and jazz studies, Cian studied at CU Boulder on a full-ride scholarship with a performance major in jazz saxophone. While their plans to focus on their music careers after university are steadfast, the brothers remain strong advocates of jazz in cultural and educational spaces.
